Abstract
EU law and national laws of EU member states are interconnected. As per traditional point of view, both of these form a part of two different legal orders but may be seen in modern times as a part of same legal system. Most of the times, EU aw is considered superior to national law. This research paper aims to bring out the relationship between the two by closely analysing the significance and impact of EU law in domestic legal system which has already gotten a great deal of attention in the legal doctrine and other is the relevance of national law which is yet to receive due attention. The importance of domestic laws at the EU level is scrutinized by looking at various functions that member states have in an EU law. The link between both i.e. EU law and domestic laws is fundamentally different from the historical dichotomy between public international law and domestic law. National Laws of member states have had a direct impact which still continues on the substance of EU law. Moreover, the way in EU law served to domestic laws particularly for its own purpose and tackles national administrative bodies to the same end indicates that EU law and national law forms a single yet complex system of multi-level governance even though EU law has a direct effect on its citizens.
