Abstract
The study delved into the history and the establishment of the Adventists missionary work in Uganda right from its formal beginnings in 1927. A qualitative approach with a historical research design was applied in the collection and analysis of secondary data. Data was got from a wide variety of sources including, secondhand accounts, written testimonies, text books, journal articles, encyclopedias and biographies. Techniques for data analysis included; content analysis, auto- ethnography and biographical research. An attempt was made to trace the initial connections that were made to secure a safe landing for the pioneer missionaries and to entrench their activities specifically in Buganda where the earliest contacts were made and later to the other parts of Uganda. The reasons for the slow expansion of the SDA missionary work in Uganda were examined. The expansion, developments and re-organizations of the SDA church in Uganda in the late 20th and early 21st centuries have been explored and succinctly elucidated.
